3
and 4 Year Old Kindergarten

It is the privilege of the West Florida Christian School
pre-school staff to direct the path of your children as they
begin an "education journey" that will meet their individual
needs, as well as challenge and prepare them for formal learning
in the years to come. Our dedicated staff provides the love and
expertise needed to successfully nurture children in the safe,
secure environment provided at our school. The pre-school is an
extension of your home in encouraging Biblical, moral, and
character development. An important focus of WFCS is our
academic program. Beginning in K-3 with the A Beka Curriculum,
our students follow a structured day that will teach the
students to recognize the letters of the alphabet and K-4
students to read words through phonics. They are also taught
Bible memory verses, Bible stories, number recognition and
addition, music, art, crafts, poetry, group interaction,
children’s games, stage performance, health and safety rules,
manners, and character training. Our strong academic readiness
program has proven to be superior in preparing young children
for success in their formal education years.
As we enter our fortieth year of ministering to pre-school
children in the Sarasota area we invite you to come and visit
our facilities. Join with us by enrolling your children to begin
their "education journey" in the loving environment of West
Florida Christian Pre-school Ministries.
Our K-3 students learn to recognize numbers,
letters and colors. K-4 students begin reading words using
phonics. Preschool students do their school work in the
mornings learning Bible memory verses, Bible stories, addition,
music, arts, crafts, poetry as well as health and safety rules,
manners and stage performance.
For information on our curriculum visit the A
Beka web site at www.abeka.com.
In the afternoons our preschool students take
naps or go home. After nap time is playtime on the playground.
We strive to make preschool a positive
experience for children. We believe in positive reinforcement
for good behavior. We strive to reward children for their
excellence through verbal praise, treasure box surprises,
stickers, special privileges and award certificates.
