What happens in an Awana meeting?

Each Awana meeting will be a time filled with energy, fellowship and spiritual growth. Our weekly Awana meetings are 1 hour and 40 minutes long and feature three main segments: Game Time, Handbook Time and Council Time. Awana meets each Wednesday night from 6:30pm to 8:10pm during the school months.

Game Time is comprised of exciting circle games exclusive to Awana that are a popular draw for churched and unchurched children alike. Council Time is a large-group setting consisting of praise and worship, Bible teaching, awards, announcements and presentation of the gospel. Handbook Time provides small-group interaction, recitation of Scripture that kids learned during the week, friendship building and opportunities for leaders to mentor children and help them understand the Bible verses they memorize.

How much does Awana cost?

The Awana program is children's club, and as such is based on a dues system.  Participating clubbers bring in weekly dues of $1.00 per club night.  Dues help the clubbers to value their time here, and the money goes toward helping offset the costs of the Awana program.  Clubbers may pay their dues for the entire club year (28 weeks) and receive a discount of $3 for a total of $25 per student.

Who leads Awana programs?

Members of Temple Baptist Church have the opportunity to serve in a fulfilling ministry through the Awana program. Church volunteers oversee everything from the entire program to spiritually leading each child. This is a major tool of Temple Baptist to plug people into service ministry. Children are a big part of our church, and we strive to teach and train them to be like Jesus.
